Echoes 2017

Among my fathers many paintings, I recently found some prints that he had made. The figure was of a shape that he used in many of his paintings. It was a photograph of a flattened cigar case that he printed onto several sheets of handmade paper. I will never know what he had intended for these, but when I saw them I knew I wanted to complete them for him. So in a way, these pieces are a collaboration between my father and myself, which is a dream I thought I would never have the opportunity to fulfill. So, for me, the title of this show, Echoes, refers to echoes of my father. He is still speaking to me, inspiring me, and walking with me.
